One of the most heart-wrenching things that Luis has told me time and time again is this:
“You know, when I was out in the streets by myself, I did not feel like a person for a long, long time. I just felt like a thing, sitting there lonely and poking my head up at people walking by. But you all invited me into your family, and now I feel like a person again–like a real human. I have a family again now…I love it!”
