Why I Put Cursing In A Supposedly Christian Book.

Jack Bennett has a wife, two kids, the perfect job—and the perfect affair. When he is caught and it all comes crashing down, Jack is left with no one to turn to. No friends. No family, except his recovering drug addict of a sister.

On a Sunday morning drive, he sees a homeless man locked out of a church service, banging on the door. He stops and offers the guy a cup of coffee. He asks the man his name, and the guy says Yeshua. As in, Jesus.

Jack’s not stupid. This isn’t the real Jesus. But with nowhere else to turn, Jack forms an unlikely friendship with this eccentric homeless man—one that will test his idea of truth, faith, love, and forgiveness. And Jack is completely unprepared for the real-life twists his story is going to take.

  2. I loved this book!…. immediately passed it along since I haven’t had time to buy another copy yet, but I will!

One of the things, separate from the actual story, that really struck me was how you, Brandon, involved so many other people in the process. It was a “family” effort and one of the strongest examples of how the Church is meant to be.  Thank you so much. for the style, the content and the message.

    1. Thanks so much Shelley, so encouraging to hear this. Appreciate your feedback. If you wouldn’t mind I’d love for you to post a short review on the book’s page on Amazon or Goodreads.

Thanks for passing it along and I appreciate you taking the time to comment here!

  3. I have been truly touched by your book. Within minutes of turning the last page, with tears running down my face, I emailed every person I know and posted the name of the book on Facebook for all my fiends to see. It was an astounding read. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish you much success with your inspirational writing!

    1. Wow Dottie, that is awesome! So encouraging to hear. Thanks so much for responding and spreading the word.

If you get a chance, I’d love for you to leave a short review on Amazon.

  4. I add this book to the rare list of extremely profound and satisfying endings. Throughout your book I experienced “aha” moments like never before, especially in the end. Thank you for sharing your perspective in such a frank, non-traditional manner. This is a book that is worth a second reading. I was also pleased that the setting was in Columbia, as I live in Charleston and am a hardcore Clemson fan myself 🙂 I will recommend this book to everyone I know.

    1. Wow Nicole, thanks so much for this. Very encouraging to hear. I really appreciate you helping spread the word!

Also cool that you’re in SC as well. I love Charleston. Go Tigers!

  108. Thank you for writing this book! There are so many messages that I can’t get it all the first go round. I’m non-christian but anything that shows me the love of God is a good thing. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of or read Paulo Coelho’s books but this reminded me of them in a way that it makes you think within yourself, which is where the real truth is. Hope you write more!

    1. Santhiya, thanks so much for your encouragement. So glad to hear that you enjoyed the book and that it made you think…that’s why I wrote it so I love that!

Appreciate you reading and responding. I’d love for you to leave a short review on Amazon if you want.

And I’ll have to check out Paul Cuelho’s writing, I’ve heard other good things about him.

      Thanks again!

  109. This was (is) an extremely intriguing and fascinating story with a great testimony of anger, faith and forgiveness. One could become a Christian with the correct understanding of the message brought through this book. I was awed by it, made angry by it, but kept reading it for the truth found there. It will not easily be forgotten.

    1. Thanks so much for reading Wanda, I am so encouraged to hear that it will not be easily forgotten. That was certainly a major goal for the story–for it to stick with people.

I’d love for you to share your thoughts in a short review on Amazon if you care to do that!

Thanks again for reading & responding.

Every January I cry, It is such a heart penetrating, soul searching, in your face truth revealing, bring me to my knees humbling, laugh & cry at the same time sort of story that has inked an impression on my Jesus heart forever. Thank you for using your gift!
